Salads are also great for avoiding the 3pm slump and best of all, they’ve evolved over the past decade from ‘rabbit food’ to become a culinary superstar with a delicious array of options available.

Roast Cauliflower Salad Catering
There are some great benefits to salad catering so let’s run through them with you!
New Salad Options Taste Great
The days of boring, leafy salads are long gone! Salad lists have never been more extensive and interesting as they currently are. Traditional salads like Greek salads and Caesar salads are still as popular as ever but gourmet salads packed full of super foods, greens and protein have become the new crowd pleasers in recent years.
And why wouldn’t they, not only do they taste great but they are jam packed with all of ‘the good stuff’! Which brings us to our next point….
They’re Healthy!
Catering organisers are often faced with this age-old dilemma; some people love delicious, filling sandwiches and others want healthy alternatives as they are avoiding carbs. For the health-conscious office salads are perfect.
Most salad options fall into either the Green or Amber category of the Victorian state government’s Healthy Eating Advisory Services traffic light system which was developed by to help catering organisers within government departments and other large-scale organisations in making healthy food choices for their office and corporate catering. They Cater For Most Dietary Requirements
If you have a group with a variety of special dietary requirements, it can be quite difficult to cater for everyone however the humble salad lunch really does tick most boxes. There’s plenty of options for everyone, from vegetarians to vegans, gluten free, lactose free, fructose free, keto, paleo and everything else under the sun!
And as we mentioned previously, salad lists have never been more extensive and interesting as they currently are; particularly when it comes to catering for special dietary requests. Salads can then be individually packaged and clearly labelled for the guests with special dietary requirements making the process seamless! Shared Or Individual; There’s Something For Everyone
The beauty of salad catering is you can order a mix of salads that may be packaged in individual salad boxes or noodle boxes or you can order shared salads. There’s something for everyone! If ordering a variety of shared salads we’d recommend ordering a mix of vegetarian salads and protein based salads to please those with a hearty appetite!
If your ordering individual salads, you may want let your guests make their salad selection in advance, then your caterer can label the salads with the guests name for easy distribution on the day and you’ll know that everyone will be happy!
Easy To Order And Serve
If you’re not sure how much to order, any reputable caterer should make this process as easy as possible for you. Obviously if you’ve decided on individual salads then the ordering process will be super simple for you! Just work out how many attendees you have and order the number of salads accordingly (don’t forget to check for dietary requirements!).
If you’ve decided on a mix of shared salads or shared salads as a side to accompany either a selection of sandwiches, wraps, canapes or a hot buffet then your caterer should be able to provide you expert advice so you can get those catering quantities right.
Regardless if you decide on shared or individual salads for your lunch catering, both options are convenient to serve with minimal mess or cleaning up afterwards!
Cost Effective
Without a doubt one of the biggest factors influencing catering organisers when making their menu selections is budget. If you don’t have a big budget to work with and need to make it stretch then salad catering is a perfect option for you; for around $10 – $15 per person you can put on a delicious lunch spread, that’s filling and will truly impress your attendees without spending a fortune!
Easy To Eat
You want to impress that important client or special guest and need something that is easy to eat, doesn’t create a mess, healthy and most importantly delicious! This is where the trusty salad can shine! Fresh and nutritious individual salads are perfect for the appetising, low-fuss and easy to eat lunch.
